I probably shouldn't have gone back to Isla Sunata. I still hadn't absorbed the experience. When I watched Francois drown, unable to affect the outcome, overtaken by events we all set in motion, I could only record, and feel but I wasn't able to assimilate or understand. It happened so fast but those 82 seconds when he frothed the water and fought to keep his head above it were some of the longest seconds of my life.
