Reminded me of some words from Rave I Ching,

"Exaltation: The awareness that the destruction of the old limitations simply creates new ones. This results in behavioural patterns that demonstrate this understanding through actions and enhances leadership potential. The energy to handle a lifelong process of dealing with limitations.

Detriment: Where the natural desire for expansion, when limitations are essential, creates confusion from the top. Expansive energy that cannot handle limitations. "

Every time I think I need another chisel, gouge, knife, or axe I remind myself that it's just more shit to sharpen. But man, the right tool in the right hands is a marriage to idolize.

I very much agree. Forcing something to work, against the natural flow or condition is just that, force. One can do it but that voice inside, and the unconscious lack of commitment, remind what is actually happening.

Sometimes you need high quality 4k video in a small form factor that isn't a GoPro, for non-identitarian reasons.

I think the chicken/egg-ness of a given tool’s influence makes for a fun hypothetical too. Do you choose to leave the house with a specific film because you want to see the world with those associated characteristics? Or is the worldview more of a byproduct of desiring one type of photograph over the other?

Yes. This. I realize that I choose the tool according to the season of life I'm in, and within that season it's the same tool over and over. It's worth changing the tool, going against the predilection and habit, if only to make ourselves see and be with an "interpreter" we would unconsciously choose. Break the eggs, grill the chickens ... or something.

I like that idea of reaching for an intentionally contrasting feeling than the whatever the season or situation gravitates toward. Music’s another great way to pick between leaning into a feeling or crashing against it. Results may vary, but isn’t that somewhat the point?
